@Lexie90, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

To assist you better, is the printer printing blank pages?

Make sure you are using HP inks.

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issues

Check the ink levels, clean the ink cartridges, and print a test page to check the result.

If the issue persists, you may have to replace the ink cartridges. If you have already done so and it did not help, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the printer.

@Lexie90

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd love to help.

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

Also, try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for responding to my posting.  I have done the things you suggested - still have same problem.  A HP diagnosis said the.. cartridges weren't communicating and recommended replacing the carrtridges.  What do you think about that?

iA separate problem developed since this started.  Test pages I tried to print while trying some solutions are printing on another printer (not mine) but is on the my same network.  We have shared the network for many years and has not been a problem until now.  Do you think the 2 problems are related?

Could be. Do you've another set of inks?

Sorry to take so long to respond.  I've been off computer for a while.  But want you to know that replacing the cartridges (even though they were still full of ink)  did correct the error message and now does allow black and white printing but still does not print color.  It does copy in color but will not print in color,   Suggestions??

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Problem not resolved.  Tech Support accessed my printer through my computer and now printer doesn't print or copy in either black or color.  I will have to get a new printer.
