Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477 PCL6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently upgraded a few clients to Win10 and upgraded firmware of our printer (Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477 PCL6), since then printing pdf-documents from Chrome has been troublesome. Chrome chooses manual duplex instead of automatic duplex instead of the other way around. Expert community member ShlomiL implies that this is a known issue in this thread (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/Disabling-Manual-Duplex-Popups/td-p/7182474) but I can find no fix for this. Please help.

Details:

When "Print on both sides" is activated in chrome print window the printer only prints every other page and expects user to put document back into feeder to print other side. If user chooses "Print using system dialog" instead and makes the sure the duplex is enabled (this is default) and print that way instead, automatic duplex works as it should. If user downloads pdf-document and prints using adobe acrobat, automatic duplex works fine. Chrome, windows and printer are all updated to latest available versions and have been rebooted. Duplex unit has been set to Installed under Device settings under Printer properties.

Hi,
Make sure the Automatic Duplexing option is enabled for the printer:

Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right-click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.

Now Automatic Duplexing should become available.

Please close and re-launch Chrome and check again.

Regards,
Shlomi

Thank you SchlomiL but I'm afraid this has already been tested as I wrote in my first post. This is not the solution.
