Hello,
I have a Chromebook. I am using my printer with Chrome OS's new native printing. The pages are printing with the first page first and the last page last but the each page is face up. In other words, I have to manually reorder the printed pages. Obviously, this isn't a big deal for small print jobs, but this is frustrating on larger ones.
Anyone have any thoughts about how to fix this?
Thanks!
Will

Hi @wreade,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are having issues printing on your HP Envy 5660 running on Chrome OS. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
Let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to check under Printer Preferences. Under the Layout tab you will see the option Page Order: and you can choose Front to Back or Back to Front. Click Apply and then OK.
You can change the order for a particular document through the Print Dialoge box. An example would be for Word. Click on Print and then Printer Properties. Under the Advanced tab you will see Page Order: under Layout Options. You can make the change and click OK.

@Jeet_singh: Thanks for your reply.
I tried the steps for removing the power from the printer. That didn't resolve the issue.
As for the other steps, I'm not sure how to find those options and menus. I am using Chrome OS, not Microsoft Windows, so can you provide more specific direction about how to find those menus on Chrome OS. Just to be clear, I am using the fairly new native printing in Chrome OS.
Thanks!

@jeet_singh,
Thanks for your reply. I was previously using the HP Print for Chrome app, but that was havings an issue where it would fail in the middle of a large (i.e., it seemed like it was an issue with anything greater than 5 pages) print job. The native pritining in Chrome OS resolved this and introduced this new issue of incorrect page order. Given I can put pages in order by hand, and restarting a failed print job is annoying, I will stick with the native printing in Chrome OS for now. 🙂
Thanks again for your help!

Both your printer and Chrome OS native printing support duplex printing. If you therefore select Two-sided printing you will not have to re-arrange the pages since duplex printed pages come out correctly ordered. You will find the Two-sided option 11 down in the print options panel. You may well have to do a two-fingered drag/scroll of the options panel to make the Two-sided setting section come into view.
