I hope I am in the correct forum to discuss Chromebooks & printers.
I have an HP Envy 4500. I am looking at Cromebooks as my computer use is very small these days, so do not need anything with bells and whistles.
I have been told that I would not be able to plug the printer directly, via USB, into a Chromebook. Are they not compatible? Is this true? I do not currently use WiFi.
Thank you
B

You will need a WiFi in order to use a Chromebook.
There are a few things that you can do offline but a WiFi connection is also necessary.

Hi 8lives
Thanks for your reply and giving me a jog to my memory.
I currently connect direct to the internet, but a search in a cupboard and I found a hub thing from my ISP.
This should allow connection to the net via WiFi. I have checked the Printer specs and can do this.
So if I go down the road of buying a Chromebook that will solve any printing issue.

You should be able to connect the printer to Google for printing.
As for the USB connection because the printer is a older model you may have a problem.
There is also a HP app, take a look at this link.
