How do I run clean cartridges command from the control panel itself without connecting my HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3636 printer to computer or smartphone? I know that a combination or sequence of pressing buttons on the control panel of this printer exists for clean cartridges command, and I have run this command from that sequence in the past but I can't recall that now.
I also know that HP smart app on Android has that utility but I can't access it due to forgotten password of the EWS. Usually I use this app for my printing requirements but due to my work, the printer is not used for 1-2 months at stretch and some clogging takes place which needs cleaning whenever I am in need of printing. I don't have a computer as of now.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums! I see from your post that you are having issues related to your HP DeskJet printer. Don't worry we're here to help you.
Let's try to address one issue at a time.
1. How to clean the ink cartridges from the printer control panel:
If there are smears of ink on the back of your printouts, you can use an automated tool to resolve the issue.
-
Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
-
Load paper into the input tray.
-
Press and hold the Power button, press the Cancel button (
) three times, press the Start Copy Color button (
) eight times, and then release the Power button.
The printer feeds one page slowly. The printer might make some noise for approximately one minute.
-
Wait until the page is out of the printer before you remove it.
-
Examine the test page.

2. Forgotten the password for the EWS. In this scenario, I would suggest the next step would be to restore the printer to the network defaults.
Press the Wireless button ((i)) and the Cancel button ( ) from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.
If the issue persists, I would suggest you perform an advanced reset on the printer.
I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

Thanks for replying. For my first issue, you have given me the steps to clean printer for ink smears on back of page. Thanks for this, I would keep it in mind.
However, actually I wanted to know the control panel button combinations for cleaning of printheads of the cartridges. That's different, isn't it? What I want is mentioned in the Step 10 in the link Fixing Poor Print Quality. But in this link, I could see steps based only on Windows or Mac.

Thanks for the update,
As I understand you have a concern regarding the cleaning the ink cartridge from the printer control panel, the Step 10 from the above link is to clean the ink cartridges through HP software.
Where as you can follow the Step 2 To check the ink smears on the back of the printout from the printer control panel and Step 13. Manually clean the area around the ink nozzles.
I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
