Hi,
The title says it all : clicking the printer icon doesn't give any reaction, so I don't get the screen with "scan document" , "check ink levels" etc....
The printer works fine though, it prints and makes scans. But without the scan menu, I have to give the scan command on the printer itself and automatically it's a jpg-file. In the scan menu on my PC I could choose to scan to the PDF-format.
I already tried to remove all HP-software an reinstall it but no go....
Anyone has a solution for this?
Thanks in advance for any reaction!!

It works!!
I tried again from scratch, deleted all HP-related software, followed your initial instructions, cleaned register, removed temp files, (both with CCleaner), ran support assistant which made me run Print and Scan Doctor. Restarted the computer again and.........problem solved!! Thanks a lot!!

Hi @EYES-T
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I appreciate you taking the time to share your concern and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
I reviewed your post and I understand that the printer software is not working on your computer.
I’d love to help!
Follow below steps to fix this issue.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the PC
14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.
15.) Connect the USB cable ONLY when prompted and follow the on-screen instructions.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
Take care.
Cheers!

All went fine until it says to connect the USB cable to the printer as well as to the PC, then I only get the option to install later.
I noticed your link was to the drivers and software from
HP Photosmart C6200 series
As I mentioned my printer is an HP Deskjet 3070A
Earlier I got my drivers and software here:
Should I do the process again and use that link?

I followed your instructions again and installed from the Deskjet 3070A link and the problem stays the same.
Note that everything works fine(I can print and scan (from the printer itself)), the only thing that doesn't work is clicking on the printer icon and opening the "dashboard" with all the functions

Hi @EYES-T
I recommend you to uninstall the printer assistant, then delete the temp files and prefetch files from your computer. Restart the computer and the printer.
Install HP printer assistant and check if it resolves the issue.
Keep me posted and I hope you have a good day ahead.
