HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer

Code 6201922A appears in blue screen.  lights flash just as others have described.  Upon opening the printer, I found the black ink cartridge "dumped"  and sprayed ink all over inside the printer.  I did my best to clean it up.  I replaced both the color and black cartridges, to no avail.  I unplugged the printer and rebooted it several times, to no avail.  I am at my wits end and not sure how to proceed.  All this said, I should mention this printer is over four years old.  Perhaps it's just time to replace it.  I would appreciate any thoughts and help, if a repair is possible.  Thank you.

Hi MercyNew,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already tried some troubleshooting steps,  here are a few additional steps you might try:

Clean Thoroughly: Ensure that you've cleaned up any spilled ink as much as possible, both inside and around the printer. Be careful not to leave any residue that might interfere with the printer's functionality.

Inspect for Damage: Check for any physical damage, especially around the area where the black ink cartridge was dumped. If there's any visible damage, it might be a sign that the printer is beyond repair.

Reset the Printer: Perform a hard reset by unplugging the printer from the power source and waiting for at least 15-30 minutes before plugging it back in. This can sometimes clear out temporary glitches.

Firmware Update: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer model on the manufacturer's website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
