Hello,

My problem started with some repeated defaults onprinted pages due to the fuser.

The pressure roller was damaged.

I disassembled the fuser and replaced it.

After reassembling everything, I found that:

  • B&W prints were OK 🙂
  • The color prints had a yellow background 😞
  • The paper was sometimes wrinkled or jamed 😞

According to informations found on the internet, the yellow page problem could be due to a defective yellow toner (it was good before disassembly so probably not) or a power surge. So I disconnected all the fuser connectors and reconnected them one by one. The problem was not solved. I restarted the operation and since nothing has worked any more.

When I turn on my printer I have a first message "Engine cable connection issue"  then after "Engine communication error".  There is no error code.

My questions are the following :

1) Does the problem come from a faulty fuser connector?

2) If yes, can you tell me which one to check?

3) If no, does the problem come from the fuser itself ?
(It's expensive but in this case I will replace it entirely).

4) If no, do you know what to look for to solve my probleme of engine ?

5) Any Idea for de yellow pages ?

Thank you in advance for the help you will give me.

How much did you disassemble the printer? Did you do anything with the transfer belt? As I recall, properly removing the fuser requires you to disconnect a small flat flexible cable. These can be a pain to reseat properly. Engine communication would suggest an issue between the formatter and the DC controller but from the sounds of it, you can get a page out. Check and recheck any connectors that you removed during the fuser replacement process. The yellow is odd if you did not remove the transfer belt. If you removed the transfer belt, make sure that the two plastic levers on the right side (facing the printer) are seated properly as they affect how the alienation process works and if installed wrong, the color will not engage properly.

Hello,

Thank you very mutch for your answer.

I only removed the fuser. Not the belt.

Yes there is a flat cable between de main board (?) and the communication board (??? with lan, usb, etc.).
