What is the process of extracting the firmware on a Mac?

HP Recommended

@Jerrykur

1. Mount the HP firmware update DMG.

2. Right mouse click on the 'HP Firmware Updater" application -> select "Show Package Contents"

3. Navigate to "Contents->Resources->Firmwares->zenith.HpFirmware->Contents->Resources"

4. Firmware image will be called "zenith.rfu"

@JoopR, Maybe try connecting an Ethernet to see if it connects to the network? If ftp is enabled you can ftp the firmware image to it.

Otherwise, reach out to the seller. I don't think anyone has the knowledge on how to manually push firmware images to the formatter board.  Maybe they can help.

@Katherine73: Connecting an ethernet cable does not work either unfortunately. I have just sent a message to the seller on Aliexpress. Hope they can give me some information.

@JoopR - Any luck? From that message, it seems like it's waiting on a remote firmware update procedure from something like Web JetAdmin or similar loading process. When you mentioned AliExpress earlier in the thread, my concern was there wouldn't be an firmware image on it, so hoping they can provide you with an update procedure.

@Katherine73: I have sent them a message via Aliexpress. They requested my e-mail address so they can send me the Brush machine software. Hopefully this will be of use. I'll give an update as soon as I know more.

I had the exactly same problem. It is hard to believe that HP did things in such an unprofessional way... Let's file a class action lawsuit and let the media be aware of this issue. HP might have done this on purpose. This company should be punished by the public for doing this.

Hallo Michael,

Hi @Deuils, in Australia too and with the same problem. Maybe Consumer Affairs / ACCC can help?
