Microsoft Windows 11

Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw Printer keeps rebooting and re-initializing.

This printer has been functioning correctly for several years.  I suspect it began misbehaving after a firmware update in June 2024.  The current Firmware Date Code is 20240321.  It now continuously reboots and initiates. During the cycle, Error 79 is displayed as the issue. If the ethernet cable is unplugged from the printer, it will adequately initialize and can be used as a copier. Plugging the ethernet cable back in restarts the initialization cycle.

I have:

1)  Reset the printer defaults via the menu;

2)  Hard reset the printer by touching and holding the screen during initialization;

3)  Set wireless connectivity to off;

4)  Set ethernet connectivity to IPv4 ON and IPv6 OFF;

5)  Tried booting with both DHCP and a static IP;

6)  Deleted and reinstalled the HP Smart App, it finds the printer as OFFLINE at all times;

7)  The printer has been rebooted NUMEROUS times and has been both unplugged from the wall and plugged into a Non-surge-suppressed outlet;

😎  Deleted and reinstalled the Windows 11 print driver.

At this point, I need help and am frustrated!!!

Your suggestions will be appreciated!!!  (Using the printer as a Boat Anchor, Tire Chock, Door Stop, and Lawn Ornament have already been suggested...)

Thanks!!!

The only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
