I recently purchased a new colour printer, which I immediately plugged in and turned on, but it refuses to print in colour. I can scan or print the test sheet from the printer directly, so I know there is colour ink there. However, when I try to print from my laptop, I am not even given the choice to print in colour. I printed a test sheet from the laptop and noticed that "Color Support: No" was listed under printer properties, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to modify that. I decided to check this site out in case anyone else had experienced a similar problem because I've had Virtual Assistant open for 30 minutes now without receiving a response.

Assuming Windows OS as you did not include that information. On your PC go to control panel >devices and printers  then right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer properties " from the drop-down menu. Click on device settings tab, scroll down until you see device type and change to color. If that option is missing make sure you are using an HP driver and not a class or Microsoft IPP driver.
