HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One Printer

There are many questions regarding this problem on this forum. I have discovered 2 possible solutions. If your printer will print in color from other applications then try this: 1) Connect your Envy printer via a USB cable direct to your computer. Select a document to print and you should see this USB printer as a printer option in the drop down tab. Click on Printer Properties. You should now see Color as an option under the tab 'Paper Quality'. For whatever reason(s), when in Wireless mode, this option does not appear.

To enable wireless with color option the only solution I have found is to download the 'ePrint Software' for your particular model. https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/printers  Enter your Envy model and scroll down and look for 'Software e-print'. Once downloaded it should now appear as a printer option in your Print Screen (HP ePrint + JetAdvanatage). Select that printer when printing a page, click Printer Properties and in the Paper Quality tabe, you should now find B&W and Color as options.

Hope this helps someone else who like me has been driven batty by this problem. Wish someone at HP would take note.
