My printer has been printing great, with colors true to the colors in the documents I've been printing. My printer alerted me to change to Cyan cartridge, which I did. I changed it with the correct HP cartridge for the printer and now anything I print looks streaky and there is no magenta printing. There is plenty of magenta ink in the cartridge so that is not the issue. I've restarted the printer, unplugged it all kinds of ways, printed many print test pages and each page the color wheel looks different, with hardly any magenta or yellow evident. What can I do?

Hey there! @utahrnmom, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand when you print from your printer the colors are faded from the printouts.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Does the issue persist when you make a copy from your printer?
Have you tried printing using a different brand paper?
Have you tried checking with a different ink cartridge?
As you mentioned when you print from your printer the colors are faded from the printouts.
Manually clean the printhead contacts and check if the issue persists.
Try the steps recommended below.
Check the estimated ink levels, and then replace any low or empty cartridges.
Print a Print Quality Diagnostic page from the printer control panel and check if the issue persists.
-
Load plain white paper in the input tray.
-
From the home screen on the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setup icon
.
-
Swipe up on the display, touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report.
A Print Quality Diagnostic Page prints.
If the copy works fine reset printing system on your MAC and check if it helps.
• Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
• Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
• Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
• Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
• Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
• Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
• Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
• Click the “Add button” (+).
• Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer. Do not select an HP Fax driver.
• Click “Print Using...” or “Use”, and then select Secure AirPrint or AirPrint. Alternatively, you may select the name of your printer if available in that list.
Refer this article to further troubleshoot the print quality issue with your printer.
