Officejet 7110 wide format e printer

I've recently purchased compatible ink for my printer because of the outrageous cost of genuine cartridges for my printer. I cannot continue to keep paying €100+ for a full set of inks. HP has clearly blocked these from being used and now my provider won't work at all. I have tried every fix I can find, have disabled ink protection, etc. and the printer refuses to recognize the inks. I keep getting a light saying that the black ink is empty (the only ink I've replaced with compatible ink) and I get an error message to say the printer is busy when I have this ink in, which is shutting down communication to the printer so it won't accept anything. Is there a way around this? I have not done anything wrong by using a compatible ink but seems completely lousy that HP do this. This is the second HP printer I've had that has done this so I'm fairly certain it's a deliberate move on the part of HP. The printer was working fine until this and I refuse to buy genuine cartridges to check that it's not a problem with the hardware of the printer as I've perfectly fine ink here. So fed up of trying to make this work so if there is any fix, I'd really appreciate it.
