Computer says I have to "ask administrator for permission" but I own this thing. It will not stop reprinting this 300 page thing, and has gone through several reams of paper. I can't get the software to show up on my printer due to above message, so it just keeps cycling through. Do I need a new printer? I hope not! Thank you to whomever!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Could you please share the picture asking for Admin permission?
Keep me posted for further assistance.

You are going to need to disconnect the printer from your computer first while you fix the problem. The prompt you are getting is likely due to Apple OS wanting to confirm before making changes. I would suggest you try the instructions in this document to clear the print queue

Regarding MAC OS admin permission see this Apple document
