Officejet Pro 8620
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

We can no longer print from our laptop to our HP 8620 printer, it was printing fine up until a few days ago.

The computer and printer have completly different IP addresses.

The computer is wirelessly connected to the network with an IP address of 10.0.0.161

The printer is connected to the router via a network cable and showsan IP of 172.16.0.8

The comacast router is set to be a DHCP server and use 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.250

The router shows the MAC address of the printer as connected but with a very weird IP address: fe80::a2d3:c1ff:fede:ca32

Not sure what is going on

Figured it out, found the answer on the Comcast site.

There is only one router. The Comcast router did an update and reset the DHCP to 10.0.0.***, the printer was stuck on the previous IP because somehow the router was locked into giving it that IP even when rebooting the printer and/or router. I did a soft reset on the router (hold red button on back of router for two seconds) to wipe out the reserved IP's and then reconnected the printer to the network. Then it switched to the correct IP address.

Thanks

You should only have one router doing DHCP, from your description you are using two routers.
