I recently set up a new HP OJ 7740 on my network and now my Envy 5660 is not able to be seen. Are there any known conflicts with multiple HP printers on a network? Under system preferences, printers - it shows it offline. When I print to it, I receive a message stating it's looking for the printer - not connected.
I have turned it off/on, turned off the network and turned it back on again to no avail.
Has anyone encountered an issue like this?
Thanks

Good Day. Thanks for reaching out to the HP community. I will be glad to assist you and let’s get right to it. Terrific observations and great diagnosis of the issue. It is amply appreciated.
Let me gather some information for better clarity to assist you correctly:
- Did you try to remove the printer and add it again?
- Did you restart your network devices and check again?
I will be providing a roadmap with some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Let us try these steps:
- Please perform a hard reset on the printer from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-5660-e-all-in-one-printer-series/6809225/model/6809226/... by following instructions from the section “Step 1: Reset the printer.
- Then update the printer’s firmware by following directions from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16 Use a USB cable to update the printer’s firmware.
Then from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-5660-e-all-in-one-printer-series/6809225/model/6809226/... (HP Printers - Printer Not Found During Network Driver Setup (Mac) perform only these steps:
- Step 1: Restart the computer, printer, and router
- Step 2: Check the network and printer connection status
- Step 3: Manually connect the printer to your network (wireless connections only)
- Also, ensure to install all the latest Mac OS updates on your MacBook and make sure that the updates are the most current ones.
- This should do the trick for you.
If the issue continues, then from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-5660-e-all-in-one-printer-series/6809225/model/6809226/... (HP Printers - Printer is Offline (Mac) perform all the prescribed steps till the issue gets resolved.
- Make sure to remove the printer and add it again only as Apple AirPrint or secure AirPrint and nothing else.
- Then follow other steps in the document until it resolves the issue.
This should nail it.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂

Hi David, thank you for your message.
Couple things happened here. I uninstalled the Envy and tried to reinstall it but it was still not visible on my network. I then realized the Envy froze the last time I power cycled it and did not realize this.
I unplugged and it rebooted, was then able to get the printer reinstalled and everything is working fine.
Thanks again for your suggestion.
