Hi @DTB3,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your printer shows an exclamation light (!) and appears offline even though it’s connected to Wi-Fi. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check the Error Indicator

A blinking (!) light usually indicates a printer error such as a printhead or cartridge problem.

Look at the printer’s display (if available) for an error message or code for more details.

Restart the Printer

Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord for about 60 seconds.

Plug it back in and turn it on. This resets the internal hardware and clears minor faults.

Check the Printhead and Cartridges

Open the printer’s access door.

Remove and reinsert the cartridges firmly until they click in place.

Make sure there’s no tape left on the cartridge nozzles and no paper jam around the carriage area.

Run a Printhead Cleaning (if accessible)

On the printer control panel, go to Setup → Printer Maintenance → Clean Printhead.

This can clear ink blockages that may cause the error light.

Check the Network Connection

Even if Wi-Fi is connected, go to Wireless → Settings → Print Reports → Network Configuration Page and confirm the Status shows “Connected.”

If it says Disconnected, reconnect using Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer menu.

Set the Printer Online

On your computer, go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers.

Right-click your printer and make sure Use Printer Offline is not checked.

Update Printer Firmware (if available)

Open HP Smart on your computer or phone.

Go to Printer Settings → Advanced Settings → Printer Updates and install any updates.

I hope this helps.
