I just get this printer and following errors show up
When trying to scan from the device says "not enough memory". when doing it from Mac book pro the scanner preview starts and you can see the machine trying to scan but freezes out and loops saying in the display scanning
When trying to print a error says "connection error"
I will buy a device to connect the printer to the MacBook pro because it only have USB compact imputs, none USB
when selecting print test or page count or status, freezes out and the says, "error shut down"

Hi @Tonyacc,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems you're facing several issues with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP130fw related to scanning and printing. Let's break down and address each issue.
Scanning Issues:
- Error: "Not enough memory" when scanning from the printer.
- Freezes during scanning when using MacBook Pro.
Possible causes and solutions:
- Low memory on the printer: Ensure there are no large jobs in the printer's queue, as they can consume memory. Clearing the print queue might help.
- Driver issue: Verify that you have the latest drivers installed for macOS. Visit the HP support website to download and install updated drivers for your model.
- Connection issue: Since you're using a USB compact input, try connecting the printer directly with the correct cable or adapter to the MacBook Pro. Using a different connection method, such as Wi-Fi, might resolve the scanning issue.
- Firmware update: Sometimes, firmware bugs can cause these problems. Update the printer's firmware via the HP website or using HP Smart.
Printing Error: "Connection Error"
- This could be due to several factors:
- Connection type: If you're using Wi-Fi, make sure the printer and your MacBook Pro are on the same network.
- USB Compact Input Issue: Since your MacBook Pro only has USB-C inputs, make sure you use a proper USB-C to USB adapter for the connection. A weak or incorrect connection can lead to the printer not being recognized.
- Driver installation: Ensure you’ve installed the correct driver for your MacBook Pro. You can check for the latest driver on the HP website.
Freezing on Printing Test Pages
- If the printer freezes when printing a test page or retrieving the page count, it might be caused by:
- Firmware or software bug: Updating the firmware could help solve this problem.
- Printer memory overload: Ensure that there are no print jobs stuck in the queue or errors causing the printer to freeze.
- Power cycle: Try restarting the printer by unplugging it for about 30 seconds, then plugging it back in.
Next Steps
- Update Firmware and Drivers: Check for the latest firmware and drivers from HP and update them.
- Use the Correct Cable or Adapter: Buy a compatible USB-C to USB-A adapter for connecting the printer directly to your MacBook Pro.
- Restart Devices: Try restarting both the printer and MacBook Pro after connecting them.
- Reset Printer: If none of the above works, consider resetting the printer to its factory settings and reinstalling it from scratch.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
