On my printer, an HP LaserJet M140we, an orange exclamation mark is blinking under the internet symbol. It does not print. The HP Smart app says “Check Account” – there is an error with your HP account and you may soon be unable to print if the problem is not resolved. This may be related to your billing cycle. Please log in to your HP account and check your status.
I have never had a subscription or Instant Ink; there is no billing history.
I have already restarted the printer, the router, and the computer; all devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer. According to the test page, the printer is connected. Signal strength is excellent. A few days ago, the printer still worked fine – since then, I have not changed anything. Firmware is up to date
Any ideas?

Hi @Ashra1_1djf
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Follow the below steps to reset your printer and eventually resolve the issue that you are encountering.
Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet.
Open the HP Smart app on your computer/laptop; if the printer is not added, please click on 'Add the printer' on top. Select your printer and follow the on-screen instructions to get your printer configured on the app.
Once done, from HP Smart, select your printer, and then click or tap Advanced Settings
If the web browser displays a message indicating that the website is unsafe, select the option to continue. Accessing the website will not harm your device.
● If prompted, enter the default user name and password of the printer.
– User Name: admin
– Password: Open the cartridge access door, and see the label inside the printer
On the System tab, click Service.
In the Restore Defaults area, click the Restore Defaults button
The printer automatically restarts
This would remove any incorrect firmware updates from the printer and would put the printer in setup mode.
Once the printer is back on, disconnect the USB. Ethernet cable, uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app, open the app, and click on add printer on top. Select your printer and follow the on-screen instructions to get your printer configured on the app.
Please let me know, if you come across any concerns, I will assist you further and will have that sorted as well.
