HP Envy 6000. All test pages and connection to Wi-Fi show positive info. When printing a single / multiple page will continue printing until paper tray empty. Subscribe to HP Ink supply system on a page printed basis so getting expensive. No error messages. Printer info leaves laptop

Hi @Tyke42,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 6000 continues printing beyond what is requested, it could be due to a few potential issues.
- Printer Memory Cache: Sometimes, a previous print job gets "stuck" in the printer's memory, leading to continuous printing. Try turning off the printer, unplugging it for at least 60 seconds, then plugging it back in and turning it on.
- Print Queue: On your laptop, check if the print queue shows additional documents or jobs that may be repeating. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your HP Envy 6000, and choose Open Queue. If you see any documents, cancel them.
- HP Smart App or HP Driver Update: Since you're subscribed to the HP Instant Ink system, it may be beneficial to check for updates. Open the HP Smart App, go to Settings, and see if any firmware updates are available for your printer. Updating the printer’s firmware often resolves communication errors.
- Printer Reset: Resetting the printer to its factory settings may help. To reset, press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons until the Power light flashes, indicating that the printer has reset.
- Network Connection Stability: If the printer is Wi-Fi-Connected, a brief loss of connection may cause repeat print jobs when it reconnects. Ensure your Wi-Fi signal is stable or consider a wired connection if possible.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
