Check if the paper type is selected to Photo paper as default for printer.
Open and close the paper access door. You will get options to select the paper type. Select appropriate paper type here. Now try copying again.

If the copy takes several minutes, with the printhead making hundreds of sweeps across the page the issue is likely that your copy media setting is set for Photo paper. Touch (Settings) to specify paper size, paper type, quality, or other settings. You may also change the settings and then save them as the new default.
