LSH, we have had this problem with two HP Laser Printers.  Standard procedure is we set the admin password on all new network printers.  Common procedure is to open text editor of choice and type the password we are going to assign it out, then copy & paste it in, then test it after we save the new password.  Until recently it has always worked.  Twice now I have done the same procedure and both times after saving it the new password it doesn't work and we have to factory reset the printer and try all over again.  Does copy and paste not work anymore?  Thank you.

Is it possible that you are using characters that are not allowed? Have you tried a simple password just to confirm?

Reparatrooper,
Not unless the @ symbol is invalid.  I have used similar passwords with the @ symbol in the past and no issues.  Also, to update, we did a factory reset and this time I typed in the password instead and same issue.  So unless I missed that @ is unacceptable there is still something wrong.

There are no exclusions listed in the password documentation. Just the 16 character limit at which point is will append to only the first 16 characters.

Thanks! My issue with the password was that I did not realize that it was limited to 16 characters.  The password that I set was 17 characters and it kept coming back as invalid.  After reading this post, I typed the first 16 characters and the password worked.
