DESKJET Plus 4130 Has anyone else had issues with this printer

I received Deskjet Plus 4130 as a present

Deskjet Plus 4130 Has the potential to be a great printer. However:

Prints out only on ordinary paper. Never on Glossy or Matte. And I have encountered many problems in the month I have had it. Most of that time it has been unused. For the following reasons:

* Very rarely does anything you want it to!
* Have wasted about 30-40 pages of good quality paper trying to get it to print on Glossy or Matte. but it keeps telling me 'Printer can not print full page. But, does not say why!
* Not able to easy access other print parameters as in normal print page settings on other printers!
* Often tells me 'printer needs intervention' but not why, even though everything seems okay!
* Mobile app prints more pages on normal print paper but does not give easy access to other print parameters!
* Camera scan, via app, is good but it will not print what I scan!
* Went to Diagnostics out of frustration but it then told me it had failed to print!
* Align cartridges - same thing happened!
* Print Diagnostic Information and ended up with three blank pages thrown out!
* According to printer I have used half a colour cartridge and yet to get a full colour copy!
* Have found ONE thing this printer is very good at: Telling me what problems it encounters and what it can not do!

When I first installed this printer the first colour picture printed on ordinary paper and I was amazed at the quality of the print. Fantastic. Remember thinking 'what are the glossy prints going to be like? - Still Waiting! I have used numerous brands of printers for close on 25-30 years, going back to dot matrix. I think companies are trying too hard to make these new printers TOO Smart. Great if they work but all people want to do is Print; simply and efficiently

Virtual Agent which I keep getting referred to on HP Site keeps pointing me to the same basic problem I do not have, like stuck paper, or it simply states 'Do not understand question!'.

At present, I have unplugged it and gone back to Epson Workforce 2530 that I have had for 6 years, before that my brother had it for a few years and it has had less problems in all that time than this one has in the first few days.

HP Instant Ink is a great idea for saving ££££s on ink but this machine will squander all that it does save you on wasted paper.

BUT:

At Last A Solution!

Turn off printer and unplug from mains.

Install SLEDGE HAMMER.
