HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I have an HP Color LaserJet MFP M281fdw and got some errors:

54.1400 Color plane registration sensor error
54.1103 Yellow Density Range Error
54.1102 Magenta Density Range Error

Seems the Density Detect Sensor Assembly (RM2-5874-000CN) is not working.

Does anybody know how to get this sparepart. I'm located in Austria.

Thank's for your time

HP does not sell this part direct to end users. You will need to find an authorized repair dealer or check Amazon/Ebay.  The good news is that it is a part they do make which is not always the case. Keep in mind that low toner levels can cause this error as well  or a dirty sensor.

Thanks for the answer.

Bought a set of fresh toners to test, no luck.

Disassembled the machine to get the Density Detect Sensor in my hands, spent some time for cleaning every part I came nearby, no luck.

The error 54.1400 is already present. This is a 500€ machine, so I cannot give up.

See you.
