HP DeskJet 2130 All-in-One Printer

 

I only want to print black and white with this printer, and I do not want to spend the money to buy color ink cartridge if it is not necessary.

 

Question: would it still print black/white if the color ink cartridge is not installed?

Yes, your printer will work in single-cartridge mode.

Check the printer settings.  Most have the option to print in color or just in black and white.
