My DeskJet seems to be missing a paper input tray. The printer is new and has never been used, but its warranty has expired. Is the paper tray hidden somewhere within the printer? If not, can I order a replacement paper tray from HP?

Hi @greathornedowl,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you want to know where the input tray is located for your HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Printer.

The input paper tray is located at the rear end of the unit.

You may check page no. 4 of the user guide from the link: User Guide

We don't have a paper tray or "input tray." Can I get a replacement somewhere?

I set up a search on ebay for "input tray deskjet 2540".

Greetings,

The Deflector / Input Tray that covers the back of the Deskjet 2540 and guides the paper in the Input at the back of this unit has a broken side. I cannot find this part anywhere - I realise this unit has been discontinued but even finding a part number is difficult.

It is the black tray that folds down when there is no paper loaded. Is there some other printer that uses the same size 'tray' that I can find? I have tried the Spares stores offered in FAQ and Support. Would be a shame to throw a working printer because the paper does not stand up straight.

PS - I'm in the United Kingdom - England.
