@Billychuck2, Welcome to HP Support Community!
To be able to assist you better, I would like to know the following:
- Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? The printer can only connect to a 2.4GHz network.
- What is the distance between the router and the printer?
Meanwhile, try the steps below-
Use Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), HP Smart, or temporarily connect a USB cable to establish a wireless connection between your printer and network.
Connect the printer with WPS
-
Locate the WPS button on your router, but do not press it yet.
If your router does not support WPS, skip to the next step to connect the printer with the HP Smart app.
-
Turn on the printer. If the printer is in sleep mode, press the Cancel button on the control panel.
-
On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button
for at least 3 seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash.
HP Tango printers: Press and hold the Wireless and Power buttons on the back of the printer for 5 seconds. The Edge lighting flashes blue to indicate the printer is in WPS mode.
-
On the router, press and hold the WPS button for 3 to 5 seconds or until it shows that the WPS connection process has started.
Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns on solid.
Refer to the document HP Printers - No Connection after Router or Wi-Fi Settings Change for help.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for the response.
Connecting the printer via USB to my Chromebook allows me to print, but not wirelessly.
The router has both 2g and 5g bands. When I print the wireless info sheets, it lists both as available. But no connection.
This printer connected to a previous Spectrum router. Is there a way to reset factory defaults to clear that connection info out of the printer? That might be the problem.
I've tried the WPS method, with no success.

To reset the wireless settings on the printer, press and hold the wireless button and cancel button together for 3 secs. The wireless light will start flashing. Restart the printer and try to configure the printer on network.
Keep me posted for further assistance.

I have tried to reset the printer numerous times, with no success. After I restarted, the Wi-Fi light just begins to flash and it shows the signal strength meter going from 1 to 2 to 345 then back to 1 to 2 to 345 etc. over and over, as if it’s searching for a network. But no luck.
I’ve restarted the router, then the printer, but they still don’t connect. They are about 6 feet apart.

Print a wireless test report, press the Wireless button and Information button
at the same time. Review each test in the Diagnostics Summary or Diagnostics Results section for results such as FAIL, Low, or Poor. Some failed tests might cause other tests not to run. Refer to the document HP Printers - Using a Wireless Network Test Report for help.
Keep me posted.
