Hello,
i own a pretty old Deskjet 1050A that i didn't use for quite some time. But now it always states the Tri-Colour cartridge would be incompatible, but it's an original 301 from HP. (left red "droplet"-icon is blinking)
I have already tried a few different things, i cleaned the cartridges and the contacts inside the printer, i tried reseting my printer and pretty much everything i found on the internet. Also i tried my two other spare colour cartridges , both result in the same error message.
The error message (in German):
"HP -- Dreifarbig
Die weiter oben aufgelisteten Patronen sind in der aktuellen Druckerkonfiguration nicht zur Verwendung vorgesehen."
But this exact cartridge did actually work in the past, so my printer is having issues. But now i can't print anything, not even grayscale.
Is there anything left to try or is my printer just broken?
Firmware-Version: SLM2FN1103AR

Hello,
I found a youtube video, below is the link. Although it is not to your printer, you may try the steps as mentioned in the video.
Let me know if it worked for you ?

Thanks for this, but I already tried this as well. That's how I got that 4th screen shot.
Looks like the printer is having issues reading the correct values of the cartridge and refuses to use it.
Is there a way to convince the printer to just use the cartridge despite getting wrong values?
Also carefully cleaning the contacts on cartridge and printer didn't help.

Hello,
Thank you for sharing the pictures of the Supply status screenshot and also the test report.
Looks to me like these could be the possible reasons...
- Tri-Color cartridge has either gone faulty.
- Its a Non - HP Cartridge or refilled.
- Tri color cartridge could have been used in another printer where Cartridge protect feature was enabled , hence locking it to that printer.

Hello,
I have two original HP cartridge's, both resulting in the same supply status, but they worked in this exact printer in the past.
Both status reports for those two tri colour cartridges look exactly the same.
But anyways: Is there anything I can do without buying new cartridges? They were working and status report shows they are not empty.

Hello,
My last suggestion would be trying out with a New Tri-color cartridge ( if you haven't tried yet ), else looks like its a printer issue, and printer need to be serviced.
