Hi @Demolade,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2130 / 2135 printer is showing a flashing ink light, even after installing new cartridges. Let’s go through steps to resolve this issue.

1. Check Cartridge Installation

Turn on the printer and open the cartridge access door.

Make sure the cartridges are fully seated in their slots.

Remove the cartridges and reinsert them firmly until they click into place.

2. Clean Cartridge Contacts

Turn off the printer and remove the cartridges.

Using a lint-free cloth or cotton swab, gently clean the copper/gold contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer.

Reinsert cartridges and close the access door.

3. Check for Protective Tape

Verify that all protective tape or covers on the new cartridges have been removed.

Even a small piece of tape can prevent proper contact and trigger the ink light.

4. Reset the Printer

Turn on the printer.

Disconnect the power cord from the printer (leave it plugged into the wall).

Wait 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer.

Turn the printer back on.

5. Check Cartridge Compatibility

Ensure the cartridges are HP 680 or HP 680XL (depending on your model).

Non-genuine or incompatible cartridges can cause the flashing ink light.

6. Run a Printer Self-Test

Press the Resume/Cancel button and hold it for 3–5 seconds to print a self-test page.

This can help confirm if the printer recognizes the cartridges.

7. Update Printer Firmware

Visit HP DeskJet 2130/2135 Drivers & Software and download the latest firmware for your printer.

Firmware updates can resolve cartridge recognition issues.

I hope this helps.
