Deskjet 2600 all-in-one printer . Android tablet lenovo TB3 X70F. No problems to date. did couple of routine runs last niight and noticed orange light had come on. turned printer off/on couple of times.checked wbs connect - seems ok. Auto printer update over weekend.

Make sure the carriage is moving freely and there is no jam in the print.

 

I suggest you do a Hard Reset on the printer without the ink cartridges.

 

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on and put the cartridges in..

 

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Sorry for delay in response. Wanted an undisturbed time to get into prob. Good Idea but afraid did not work. also tried the link you suggested but it does not mention this problem. Seems strange that this problem arose after the auto update! Since then have not been able to download information page - all i get is a notification of my printers Email address. But i do not read or speak German! Printer is working ok so i will use ink delivered yesterday then go and buy a CANON.
