Looking for some help. For some reason now my deskjet 2600 won’t print colour photos. When I select the photo and then chose the printer it greys out and then prints in black and white. I’ve never had this issue before. I’ve installed HP smart on my phone and windows 11 PC and can’t find any option to fix. 
Anyone any ideas?

If your HP Deskjet 2600 printer is not printing color photos as expected, there are several potential reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow.

 

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that your color ink cartridges have sufficient ink. You can check the ink levels through the HP Smart app on your phone or the HP Printer Assistant on your PC.
  • Print a Test Page: Print a test page from your printer to check if it's capable of producing color. This can usually be done through the printer's control panel. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to print a test page.
  • Driver and Software Update: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers and software installed on your PC and phone. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your Deskjet 2600.
  • Print Settings: When you select the print option, make sure that the print settings are configured correctly. Check that the print job is set to use color rather than grayscale or black and white.
  • HP Smart App Settings: In the HP Smart app, check the settings to make sure it is configured to print in color. Look for options related to color printing or photo printing, and ensure they are selected.
