macOS 10.12 Sierra

We bought the printer this past May.  It has printed in color, several photos. AFter going to the help site here at HP, and attempting all suggested remedies, there is no progress...  everything is in B&W.

internet or from my desktop, it doesn't seem to matter.  New cartridge makes no difference.  Heads have been cleaned, aligned, and appear to be working OK.  The machinewill print test pages showing colors, however when anything is sent to the printer to print, no color appears.  I have checked the printing pref.s on the computer, and b&w is not checked.

I have not re-installed any drivers.  I have not upgraded my Mac OS since purchasing the printer.  I can't seem to make it do what I want it to.

Can anyone assit me with a solution?

Thanks for the reply, Rainbow 23.

this morning, I did the only think I hadn't done previously.  I downloaded a new driver from the HP support and installed. It.  Amongst the selections when installed was to NOT use the wireless driver, and only use the installed driver.

After selecting that drive, my printer prints in color.

while I am satisfied with the solution. I wonder why the printer seemed to lose it's driver that was previously installed.  And, I sure hope that it doesen't happen again.  I wasted a lot of ink fixing the problem....

Hi @Whitjr,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out.

I understand that you are unable to print in black from your HP e-All-in-One Printer.

This issue could occur if the electrical contacts on the cartridge or printer are not working.

Let's go through a few steps that may help to fix this issue.

And here's the step by step guide in the link: Black Ink Not Printing

You may also try resetting the printing system by following the steps in the link: Resetting the Printing System (Mac)

Let me know how that works.

You have a good day ahead.
