Deskjet 2700 lights flashing

For quite a while now, on my HP Deskjet 2700, all the lights, except color and black and white, and even the icons in the window flash every day or two. I've searched google and have tried everything I could find and nothing worked, but they still flash every day or two. I'm using my printer wirelessly and have it on my router on 2.4 ghz by itself. If I press the power button, the flashing stops. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the HP Smart all several times. The printer is only about 1 1/2 years old. Is there any way to fix this problem or am I going to have to buy a new printer?

If there is light flashing over Tricolor cartridge that means cartridge needs to clean.

I can't remember if the color was flashing or not, all the icons where flashing, when and if it flashes again, I'll take note and clean the color like you suggest and will let you know.

So far no flashing lights or icons... what I did do after your reply was,,,

Settings - Apps - Installed Apps - scroll down to HP Smart - click the 3 dots - click Advanced Options - scroll down and click Reset.

All I had to do in HP Smart was re-add my printer and got a popup saying installation was complete and that took about 5 seconds and nothing else was done.

I wonder if that made a difference?

Nope... doing what I did didn't do anything... so I cleaned the color cartridge like you said, now to see what happens. While I was at it... I also cleaned the black cartridge.

Cleaning the cartridges didn't do anything, lights and icons still flashing... I still have about 1/2 ink in each cartridge and have a box from HP with instant ink, guess I'm going to have to try those, as much as I don't want to just not yet.

I have also noticed that a lot of people, in the community with the same Deskjet 2700 model as I have, are having the same issues as me, flashing lights and icons with an EE error and none of the suggestions have helped them. I'm wondering if the problem is with the printer itself.
