Hi all.
I have Deskjet 2721e. When I try to print, the desktop interface tells me that the printer has a paper jam and requires attention. The LCD display on the printer also says there is a paper problem. But.......there is no paper jam !
I can feed a page through and also print the printer status page. So clearly there is no paper jam. And it knows this as is can feedpaper and print the status page using the buttons on the printer. And yet still when I try to print it gives paper jam error message.
I have done th eusueal switch on and off business to no avail. The HP smart programme on the interface is useless.
I have done a search on here for the solution. I cannot find one - apologies if I have missed it.
Any help please ? Ta !
Peter

Hi @Peter121212,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting a False Paper Jam error on the HP Deskjet 2721e. Sorry to hear about the issue, and thank you for letting me know that you have tried some steps.
To fix the issue, let's try a few basic steps and let me know if this will help to solve the issue.
Please remove the Cartridges from the Printer if possible, and try a Hard Reset. Do keep us posted to help you better
** Hard reset :
1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
8. Turn on the printer if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
9. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
HP Smart App: Please uninstall the HP Smart app --> restart the Device, Wi-Fi router and printer --> install it back and add the printer.
HP Firmware Update: Please update the Firmware from the link. This will help with how to update the firmware on the printer or devices.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks Vikram. I have done all down to the part about updating firmware. In the smart app, there is no advanced settings or anyting that takes me to the current firmware edition or to check for updates.
Can you please advise how to find it. Ta,
PS as things stand, having done the reset, restarted the router, removed and reinstalled the smart app and loaded up the cartridges, the printer jam icon is still showing on the printer.....
