Deskjet 3720
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The printer starts printing the first couple of lines then windows reports an error and then stops printing.  I have installed the latest drivers from the HP support site and run the HP Print and Scan doctor but it still does the same thing after it makes an adjustment to the driver and port.  I have reinstalled the printer following the instructions detailed in this message:https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/Unable-to-fix-error-preventin-printing-to-Deskjet-3720... with the same results.  When I look at the driver in computer management it says version 10.0.18362.1 from 6/21/2006 which does not change with the install of the latest HP drivers.  The printer does work from another machine on the network that does not have windows update kb4566116 installed.  The printer is using the wireless network for connectivity.

Thanks for you reply.  Turns out it was settings in the Sonicwall firewall that was effecting the wireless to wireless communication.  Sonicwall tech support helped me get it configured correctly and printing is working correctly now.

@vincem1099, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

If the printer is printing fine from another computer, it means the issue is related to the compatibility between the printer driver and this win PC.

On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button  and the Information button  at the same time.

Both a Network Configuration Page and a Wireless Network Test Report print.

Obtain the IP address of the printer.

Install the printer using the TCP/IP port:

  1. On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Add a printer(at the top)
  2. Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
  3. Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
  4. Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
  5. Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
  6. Try printing.

If the issue persists, Install the printer using Windows built-in driver

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
