Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I want to run my Deskjet 3760 in single cartridge mode (black only)

HP Smart recognises that the printer is in single cartridge mode and the colour cartridge indicator is flashing (as you would expect)

Each time I try to print it gets stuck in the queue and I get a message saying "the printer requires your attention"

If I then restart the print spooler I get a message "the printer ink system has malfunctioned" and then the printer prints the document in the queue.

I have to do this for every print.

Even if I do not have anything to print I get a message "the printer ink system has malfunctioned"

My laptop is running Windows 10

The printer is connected wirelessly

When in the error state the print and scan doctor cannot fix the print queue issue.

I had no such problems in twin cartridge mode.
