Hi Tej, 

By upgrade-- Im assuming you mean purchase a printer?  Correct? 

I am stupefied by the lack of electronic companies that look at and/or repair printers.  I guess it is something I cannot grasp and don't know enough about.  They have made that choice for very particular reasons Im sure.  Otherwise their business model would include looking at and repairing printers. (for consumers)

I actually have another hp photosmart, that no one can/will look at- so that's sadly another printer that will be put out to the trash.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

 I am truly anxious to move forward with this printer issue and I cannot wait to get a private message so I can be proactive in exhausting every option to repair the unit.
