Sorry I couldn't find a solution to this problem so I posted this new thread.

My printer is deskjet f4440. The text of documents and photo came out as clear/ crisp black text when printed with black ink only. But the text became blurry / shaded looking when printed with color.

Black letters with gray-ish shade around the letter.

This problem is already 3 years old.
Thank you in advance for helping me.

Hi Yoomyoom,

I suspect your printhead or mono vs color are misalign to each other. Aligning color printing causing the blur test in black.

 

suggest you can try  the troubleshooting by aligning the printer/printheads, hope this resolves your issue.

Thank you! It worked! I printed the alignment page and scan it with the built-in scan button. My scan button broke a long time ago but it worked for this time.
