Product: HP Deskjet 3720
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Impossible to configure my laptop to print with my HP Deskjet 3720. I've tested all the methods described in the guidelines and the status is still "Direct-01-HP Deskjet 3700 series - driver is unavailable ".

 

Please could you help?

It looks like you might be attempting to use a WiFi Direct (Direct Wireless) connection between the printer and the computer.

 

Specifications > Connectivity

 

Do you have a network at your location?

 

WiFi Direct is only necessary if you want to connect a printer wirelessly to your computer and you do not have an actual network with a router.

 

Standard Wireless (network with a router) and WiFi Direct (direct wireless, printer to computer) are NOT compatible with one another.

 

If you do have a network (with a router), make sure WiFi Direct (exact wording varies) is switched OFF on the printer control panel (likely under "Wireless" icon / setting).  The setting is a toggle - try switching the setting until the "Direct" status shows OFF.

 

Your Full Feature Software (printer software)

HP DeskJet and Ink Advantage 3700 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers

 

After the printer software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.

 

and the Firmware...

Typically, the printer software is installed and then the Firmware update:

HP DeskJet 3700 All-in-One Printer series Firmware Update
