OfficeJet Pro 8715

I want to disable duplex printing from Mac OS apps on HP OfficeJet Pro 8715.  The print dialog on-off check box for 2-sided printing does not appear in all software -- Adobe Acrobat Reader, for example.  So how do I make sure I'm printing 1 side only from such apps?

I'm far better qualified than HP to know and decide when duplex printing is appropriate.  For much of what I print out, it's not.  It's really arrogant and patronizing of HP to think that it should be making these decisions for me or any user.  Default for duplex should be OFF, leaving it to users to set and enforce their own print rules.

What is the easiest permanent fix?

Thank you.

Hi,
Follow these steps to disable two-sided printing:

Open the file you would like to print. From the File menu select Print. The Print window appears.

NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Click the Show Details button to see all available settings.

Click the settings drop down, it will usually appear as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.

Note: On Adobe Reader click the Printer... button within the print dialog, then the Layout menu will become available

Select Layout from the drop-down menu.

Set the Two-Sided option as Off.

You may save the settings as a preset by clicking Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset...

By doing so and completing the print job these settings will remain default till another preset will be used in the future.

Thank you for attempting to help.

The print dialog box in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC does not have a Show Details button.  The box is large and displays lots of choices. Show Details is not one of them. There is no Layout menu.

There's a More Options triangle, but its choices are only Current View, Odd or Even Pages, and Reverse Pages.

Perhaps I need to print from another application, turn off 2-sided printing and see if I can set that as the default.
