Just recently my HP printer Office Jet Pro 6968 started acting up. The screen on the printer suddenly started staying constantly illuminated with a BLANK solid white bright light. It happens when the printer device puts itself in auto power off mode or Sleep Mode in not sure what power Handling function is causing it. See this picture... This is the screen I see and the issue I am seeing.....
(Notice that the blue wireless indicator light stays on as well)
The way to return to normal mode is to push the power button one time and the printer will power back on and go to normal working mode, normal screen.
(Under Sleep Mode settings only 5,10 or 15 min. are selectable.)
(Auto off is not able to be turned off, only 1hr,2hr,4hr and 8hr are selectable which is normal.)
Everything in the settings is the same and normal and settings have not been changed by me. This issue just seemed to suddenly start.

I fixed this issue on my own by doing a factory reset to my printer. The screen seems to be responding like it should by going dark instead of staying lit up.

Hi Paul,
I can see the latest firmware is installed, however on the power matter, please make sure the printer is directly connected to a wall socket and not through any power strips, power hubs, extension cables. etc. which may cause such behavior due to any possible power issues.
Another possible cause would be a poor or unreliable wireless connection which may affect the printer performance too.
How far is the printer located away from your router?
Swipe down the top icons bar on the printer screen, then tap the Wireless icon.
Select Settings or the gear icon and then click on reports.
Select Wireless Network Test Report to evaluate your wireless environment, please attach a picture of the printed report to your reply to get some better understanding of any possible cause.
Cheers,
Shlomi

None of those solutions or recommendations worked to fix my problem. I appreciate you advise tho.
I did however fix the problem on my own by doing a factory reset on the printer It's so far the screen is responding normally.
