I've had my printer for several years and minor annoyances kept occurring over time, but I'm always able to find 'work-arounds' to rectify the issue. The current issue is the printer will print all pages sent to it, no matter the number, until it gets to the final page of the print job. It starts out printing the final page normally, but then stops part way down the page, while the screen still reads 'printing now'. After a minute or two, the page kicks out incomplete, even though the screen still says printing now. A couple minutes later, the screen switches to a general error code, which according to the community refers to a carriage jam, but the carriage is not jammed and the printer will accept new print jobs. Again it will print all but an incomplete version of the final page of the new print job. So if I were able to add a blank page to all my print jobs, I would get the complete versions. Since the printer prints the job from the last page to the 1st, I would need to add the blank page at the beginning. I haven't figured out how to do that, so instead, I have to request 2 copies, after the print job is complete, of the incomplete page. That way, I get one complete copy, and a 2nd partial copy. When I went to Costco to shop for a replacement printer, I found that they no longer carry the HP920 ink cartridges for the 6500 even though I'd just bought some a few months ago. It seems suspiciously coincidental that they stopped making the proper ink cartridge at the same time that my printer 'just happens' to start giving me a general error code, even though, for the most part, the printer is still working. I'm interested to hear what others think about this. Just FYI, the problem only occurs with wireless printing from my Android tablet. I have a desktop computer, not connected to the internet, that I've been using as a word processor for years, that has no issues when printing to the same printer with a wired connection. The wired connection has never interferred with the wireless connection, ever.

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Flower_Bud is at your service.

As I understand, your printer print half of the last page of your document,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Does this happen while printing from your PC?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Clear the Android OS Print Spooler cache

Sometimes resetting and clearing the Android OS Print Spooler cache can resolve the issue.

  1. On your Android device, tap the Settings icon , and the select Apps or Applications.

  2. Select Show System Apps.

  3. Scroll down the list, and then select Print Spooler.

Depending on your Android device, tap Storage, and then select Print Spooler.

  4. Select Clear Cache and Clear Data.

  5. Open the item you want to print, tap the menu icon , and then tap Print.

    A print preview screen displays.

  6. Next to Select a printer, tap the down arrow to view the printer list, and then select your printer.

If the issue persists, follow these steps:

  1. On your Android device, tap Settings .

  2. Tap More, More networks, More settings, or NFC and sharing, and then tap Print or Printing.

  3. Tap HP Inc., and then tap More.

  4. Tap Advanced Settings, and then turn on Android Print Rendering.

Let me know how this goes,

Cheers!

Hi Flower_Bud,

Thanks so much for your assistance. First, let me answer your clarifying questions. 1. This happened for the first time 3 or 4 weeks ago when I tried to print a multi-page info article for a friend. I don't necessarily use the printer everyday. But after that first time, it's happened on every print job since, for a total of 6 or 7 times, including test pages as I made attempts to fix it. 2. No new hardware nor software, and no recent updates or upgrades. 3. The problem does not occur when using my desktop that is not connected to the internet, and never has been, but it's connected to the printer with a printer cable. The cabled connection has never interferred with my wireless connection. My tablet is a Galaxy Tab A, just under 3 years old.

Let me tell you the things I've tried so far. First I did a soft reset by turning the printer off and back on. I've also done a hard reset by disconnecting the power cord from the back of the printer while it was powered on, waited about 30 seconds, then reconnected it. Yesterday when I got your email, I printed out your instructions by requesting 2 copies and tried both of the methods that you suggested. My device does not have a 'print spooler' option, but I located a 'clear unnecessary data and cache' button which I used. I also located an 'optimize device' button which I also used, which cleared some other extraneous data. I restarted my device just to be sure that the cleaning took, then tried a test page, but same result. I then was able to locate the 'Android print rendering' button and turned it on. Once again, I restarted my device to lock in the change, then I rechecked the print rendering button to make sure it was still on. And just in case, I did another hard reset on the printer. Then I tried another test page but still got the same result.

The next thing I'm going to try is uninstalling my HP print service plugin app, then reinstall it. Then I'm going to cancel my printer from the printer list, then re-add it. At this point, I'm not very optomistic, but I guess anything is worth a try because the printer works just fine with my desktop. Any other suggestions you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, TurboLady

@TurboLady

Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉

I appreciate your time and efforts,

You could try to use HP Smart App and also check if Samsung print service is disabled.

Go to Settings >Apps >Search for Samsung print service and disable.

Let me know,

Cheers!
