I need to print an image on statement-size cards but cannot get the image to print in the proper place on the card. My document is statement size as is the document size selected on the printer. Is there a trick to printing on this size paper?

Hi @BadT120,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Printing on statement-size paper with the HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn can be tricky due to paper handling and settings. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Check Paper Size Settings
Ensure that both your document and printer settings match the statement size (5.5 x 8.5 inches):
In the Print Dialog (from your application):
- Go to File > Print.
- Click on Properties or Preferences.
- Under Paper/Quality or Advanced, make sure the paper size is set to Statement (5.5 x 8.5 inches).
On the Printer’s Control Panel:
- Navigate to Paper Handling.
- Select Tray 1 or the tray you are using.
- Set the paper size to Statement (5.5 x 8.5 inches).
Adjust Print Margins
Ensure that your document's margins are correctly set for statement size paper:
- In your document, check the layout settings to ensure the margins align with the statement size format. This can often be done in the Page Setup or Layout menu.
Paper Type and Quality Settings
Sometimes, incorrect paper type settings can affect the print placement:
- In the Print dialog, under Paper/Quality or Advanced, ensure the paper type matches the paper you are using (e.g., Plain Paper, Cardstock).
Update Printer Drivers
Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your printer installed:
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for the HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn.
Custom Paper Size (if needed)
If the statement size is not working correctly, you can try setting a custom paper size:
- In the Print dialog, go to Properties or Preferences.
- Under the Paper/Quality or Advanced settings, select Custom Paper Size.
- Input the dimensions (5.5 x 8.5 inches) and save this custom size.

Software Settings
Sometimes, the software you are using to print (e.g., Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word) has its own settings that need to be adjusted:
- In your software's print settings, ensure that the document size and paper size match.
- Look for options such as Fit to Page or Actual Size and experiment with these to see if they help align the print correctly.
Printer Firmware Update
Check if there is a firmware update for your printer:
- Firmware updates can sometimes resolve issues with paper handling and printing. Visit the HP Support website to check for any available updates for your printer model.
Print a Test Page
After adjusting these settings, print a test page to verify that the alignment is correct:
- Create a simple test document with a border or specific alignment marks to ensure it prints correctly on statement-size paper.
Tray Settings
Make sure the paper is properly loaded in the tray and the guides are set to the correct size:
- Improper loading can cause misalignment during printing.
By following these steps, you should be able to get your HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn to print correctly on statement-size paper.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
