Hello ,
This issue occurs on my HP officejet pro 9010e all in one printer.
When i use double sided printing the backpage is always misaligned, its starts like 2 cm lower then the front page.
And it gets worse the more pages i print in one go. The initial alignment is screwed front and back page is already 2 to 5 cm distance from the top of eachother resulting that text is falling off the paper.
This only occurs on my laptop that has Windows 11 installed.
My other laptop that has Windows 10 prints double sided just fine.
Can this be fixed?

Hi @Jason_707,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will gladly help you.
After trying to align the printheads or cartridges in an HP inkjet printer, an Alignment unsuccessful or Alignment failed error displays on the computer or the printer control panel.
Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.
Perform an alignment
Align the printheads or cartridges in your printer when you replace them, to improve print quality, or to clear an alignment error.
- Load plain white paper in the input tray.
- Open the HP Smart app, and then click the picture of your printer to open the settings and management tools.
- In Print Quality Tools or in Advanced Settings > Tools > Utilities > Print Quality Toolbox, select Align or Align Printheads to start the alignment.
Reset the printer
Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.
- If your printer has a rechargeable battery, remove it.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
NOTE: HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
- Turn on the printer to complete the reset.
Check ink levels and replace low or empty cartridges
Low ink levels can result in poor print quality or errors. HP recommends having replacement ink on hand when cartridges are low.
Check ink levels.
- From the printer control panel: Look for an ink drop, a cartridge icon, or an Ink Levels menu.
- From the HP Smart app: Open the HP Smart app. Estimated ink levels display on the Home screen.
- From the printer software: Open the printer software, and then click the Supplies or Ink Levels option.
- Ink Tank, Smart Tank, DeskJet GT printers: Look at the ink tank windows on the printer. Most printers with ink tanks have a minimum fill line.
If any of the cartridges or tanks are low on ink, or if you see a Low ink message, replace the low cartridge or refill the empty tank.
Clean the printheads or cartridges
Use an automated cleaning tool in the HP Smart app or on the printer control panel to resolve errors, improve print quality, or remove streaks, smudges, or lines that appear on printouts.
- Printers with a control panel display: From the Settings, Setup, or Tools menu, select the option to clean the printheads or cartridges.
- HP Smart app: Click the picture of your printer to open the settings and management tools. Click Print Quality Tools, and then select the option to clean the printheads or cartridges.
After the cleaning, evaluate the page that prints. You might need to clean the printheads or cartridges more than once.
Replace cartridges or printheads that are not functioning
Alignment pages with defects or missing colors can cause the sensor inside the printer to misread the page and
alignment to fail. Check the page for issues, and replace faulty cartridges or printheads.
- Check the page for defects such as missing colors or sections. See the examples below for sections of alignment pages without defects.
NOTE: Depending on your printer, the alignment page might have multiple colors or only black ink. Most alignment pages include a series of lines and blocks.
- If you find any defects, replace the ink cartridges and printhead (for printers with a removable printhead).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

What driver are you using?
I am a volunteer, offering my knowledge to support fellow users, I do not work for HP nor speak for HP.

Hi @Jason_707,
Thank you for your response,
To check the driver being used by your HP printer, you can follow the steps below:
- Open the Control Panel on your computer.
- Click on Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP printer icon and select Printer Properties from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the Advanced tab in the Printer Properties dialog box.
- In the Advanced tab, you will see a field named Driver Name. This will show you the name of the driver that is currently being used by your HP printer.
Alternatively, you can also check the driver version by visiting the HP website and downloading the latest version of the driver for your printer model. Once the download is complete, run the installer and it will show you the current version of the driver installed on your computer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
