I reinstalled my printer on my laptop. Everything looked good and all set to go. When I click print, it sounds like something is getting ready to print but it never does. I received this message after doing troubleshooting, "Driver check issue not fixed." What can I do? Thank you!

Hi @burgm1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering a "Driver check issue not fixed" message while trying to print, it indicates that there might be an issue with the printer driver. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the problem.

  • Restart your printer and computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary communication issues between your devices.
  • Check for connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your laptop. If it's a USB connection, make sure the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and your laptop. If it's a wireless connection, ensure your printer and laptop are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Update printer driver: The issue might be due to an outdated or corrupted printer driver. Go to the HP website and download the latest driver for your HP Deskjet 3772 printer. Install the driver on your laptop and restart it.
  • Windows Update: Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, Windows updates include fixes for printer-related issues.
  • Print Queue: Check the print queue to see if there are any pending print jobs. If there are, try canceling them and then attempt to print again.
  • Printer as default: Ensure that your HP Deskjet 3772 printer is set as the default printer on your laptop. Sometimes, the wrong default printer can cause printing problems.
  • Try a different document: The issue might be specific to the document you're trying to print. Try printing a different document or file to see if it works.
  • Check ink or toner levels: If your printer is low on ink or toner, it might not be able to print. Check the ink or toner levels and replace any empty cartridges if needed.
  • Run Windows Printer Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in Printer Troubleshooter that can help identify and fix common printing problems. Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot," then select "Printer" and run the troubleshooter.
  • Reinstall printer: If none of the above steps work, consider uninstalling the printer completely from your laptop and then reinstalling it using the latest driver you downloaded from the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
