How do you get a document to duplex print?  I printed a 3 page document and it came out on 3 pages, instead of pages 1 and 2 being doublesided.  Thanks.

Thank you for your answer, but I found the solution.  I did not know to select Duplex Printing under Printer Preferences.  I thought the printer would automatically doubleside the copies.  Thanks for answering.  How do you mark a question as solved?

The duplexer may need to be enabled in the driver, see the Vista/Windows 7 Duplex Printing Guide here.  From the guide:

No option for two-sided printing. The selection for automatic two sided printing may be grayed out, or only manual duplexing is offered.  This typically occurs because the duplexer is not recognized as installed, or the driver may default to not installed.   To correct this in Vista do the following: go to Start, Control Panel, Printers, right-click on the printer, Run as Administrator, Properties, (continue), Device Settings, Installable Options, set the "Two Sided Duplex Unit" to installed, OK.

Hi Bob, thanks for giving up your time to help poor hapless people like me!

I too have an HP Envy 5640 printer which displays the same problem but mine is connected to an HP Envy AIO desktop running Win10. However, the problem only manifests itself when printing from MS Office (365) programmes. For other programmes (e.g. Gmail in Chrome) it prints two sided.

There was a Win7 workaround elsewhere on the hp site which involved installing another driver the changing back to the first one but this didn't solve my issue in Win10.

Any ideas?
