I can't stop my printer from printing everything duplex! It even tried on one occasion to print envelopes duplex (from a mail merge list!). It's not a problem when I print PDF documents, as that offers me the option of two-sided printing.
I had a mail-merged list of 26 single page letters in Word, and it insisted on printing them duplex, as the Word print dialogue does not offer a two-sided option.
Aha! I just had an idea: give the original letter a blank second page before I mail-merge them. That would be a solution, but a bit clumsy. Surely HP can come up with a simpler way to disable/enable duplex printing.
It also duplex printed my two sheets of address labels which was totally unhelpful.
I'm pretty fed up at the amount of time and paper, labels and envelopes that have been wasted.

Hi @Cuckoo57,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with your Duplex printing of longer documents: HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 Wide Format All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove the USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Update the printer firmware
