Intermittent problems with print jobs stopping halfway through for a while. Tried a reset and now the printer says E0 error and won't fix. However, it happily prints out a report sheet when I press "I" with any problems!

Hi @Mugje,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The E0 error on your printer can be frustrating, especially if it won’t clear despite attempts to fix it. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check for Paper Jams
- Inspect the Printer: Open all access panels and check for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Clear any stuck paper carefully.
- Remove and Reload Paper: Take out the paper tray, check for any crumpled sheets, and reload the paper properly.
2. Reset the Printer Again
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Factory Reset: If the problem persists, perform a factory reset through the printer’s settings menu. Refer to the user manual for specific instructions.
3. Check Printer Firmware
- Update Firmware: Go to the HP support website and see if there’s a firmware update available for your model. Updating the firmware can resolve known issues.
4. Run Printer Diagnostics
- Built-in Diagnostics: Many HP printers have diagnostic tools. Use the control panel to access diagnostics and see if any issues are reported.
5. Inspect Ink Cartridges
- Check Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and not running low on ink.
- Remove and Reseat: Sometimes, removing and reseating the cartridges can resolve communication issues.
6. Try a Different USB or Network Connection
- If you’re using USB, try a different port or cable. If the printer is networked, ensure it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
7. Print a Self-Test Page
- Since you mentioned that it can print a report, try printing a self-test or configuration page to check if the printer can print without issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
