Hi @Woodcreek ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the E0 error message with a blinking yellow light on your HP ENVY Pro 6455 typically indicates a hardware issue related to the ink cartridges or the printhead. Since you've already installed a new color cartridge,
here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure that the new color cartridge is installed correctly. Remove and reinsert it, making sure it clicks into place properly.
Check for Protective Tape:
- Verify that any protective tape or plastic covering has been removed from the cartridge.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it. Carefully remove the color cartridge and use a clean, dry cloth to gently clean the copper contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer. Reinstall the cartridge and plug the printer back in.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer that could be causing the error.

Perform a Printer Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check for any available firmware updates for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues.
Inspect the Printhead:
- If the issue persists, the printhead might be clogged or defective. Clean the printhead following the manufacturer's instructions, or consider replacing it if necessary.
